Zsuzsi Ujj, eine ikonische Figur des ungarischen Underground und auch als Gründungssängerin der Gruppe Csókolom bekannt, hat durch ihre Fotoperformances eine einzigartige und radikale Bildsprache entwickelt. Die Serie Tükör a falon ("Der Spiegel an der Wand") sowie die anderen Werke der Ausstellung erzählen von seinen Schwarz-Weiß-Porträts, die er zwischen 1985 und 1991 gemalt hat. Diese Selbstporträts sind keine bloßen Dokumente: Der Künstler benutzt seinen eigenen Körper, gemalt, als Medium. Seine Bilder sind rohe, aber lyrische Geständnisse über die Stellung der Frau, die Sexualität und verdrängte Emotionen. Die Ausstellung hebt die enge Einheit zwischen seiner musikalischen und visuellen Welt hervor: Fotografien und Gedichte vermitteln eine gleiche aufrichtige, manchmal ironische und schmerzhafte Konfrontation. Sie bietet einen Einblick in ein in Veszprém geborenes Werk, das erst Jahrzehnte später als integraler Bestandteil der internationalen zeitgenössischen Kunstszene anerkannt wurde.

An emblematic figure of the Hungarian underground, also known as the founding singer of the group Csókolom, Zsuzsi Ujj has developed, through her photo-performances, a unique and radical visual language. The series Tükör a falon ("The mirror on the wall") as well as other works in the exhibition evoke his portraits in black and white made between 1985 and 1991. These self-portraits are not mere documents: the artist uses his own body, painted, as a medium. His images are raw but lyrical confessions about the condition of women, sexuality and repressed emotions. The exhibition highlights the close unity between his musical and visual universe: photographs and poems convey the same sincere confrontation, sometimes ironic and painful. It offers a glimpse of a work born in Veszprém, which was recognized as an integral part of the international contemporary art scene only decades later.

La serie Tükör a falon ("Lo specchio al muro") e le altre opere della mostra evocano i suoi ritratti in bianco e nero realizzati tra il 1985 e il 1991. Questi autoritratti non sono semplici documenti: l'artista usa il proprio corpo, dipinto, come mezzo. Le sue immagini sono confessioni crude ma liriche sulla condizione femminile, la sessualità e le emozioni represse. L'esposizione mette in luce la stretta unità tra il suo universo musicale e visivo: le fotografie e le poesie trasmettono uno stesso confronto sincero, a volte ironico e doloroso. La série Tükör a falon (« Le miroir au mur ») ainsi que les autres œuvres de l’exposition évoquent ses portraits en noir et blanc réalisés entre 1985 et 1991. Ces autoportraits ne sont pas de simples documents : l’artiste utilise son propre corps, peint, comme médium. Ses images sont des confessions brutes mais lyriques sur la condition féminine, la sexualité et les émotions refoulées. L’exposition met en lumière l’unité étroite entre son univers musical et visuel : les photographies et les poèmes transmettent une même confrontation sincère, parfois ironique et douloureuse.
