Founded in 2007, the Polka gallery is located in the heart of the Marais in Paris, in the Court of Venice. Dedicated to modern and contemporary photography, it defends a demanding and singular vision of the image by representing both major figures in the history of photography and contemporary artists. Alongside major masters and photographers of the twentieth century such as William Klein, Sebastião Salgado, Elliott Erwitt, Joel Meyerowitz or Franco Fontana, the gallery also highlights contemporary voices such as Miho Kajioka, Éloïse Labarbe-Lafon, Joakim Eskildsen, Alexander Gronsky and Édouard Elias. Each year, the gallery organizes between 6 and 8 exhibitions, personal or collective, promoting a constant dialogue between photographic heritage and contemporary creation. These exhibitions are often highlights of the Parisian art scene, mixing emblematic works, new discoveries and unpublished productions.
