Anlässlich ihres 40-jährigen Bestehens versammelt die Galerie Berthet-Aittouarès in einer Ausstellung die zwanzig Fotografen, die ihre Geschichte begleitet haben. Diese Veranstaltung, die im Rahmen von PhotoSaintGermain und der Feier zum zweihundertjährigen Jubiläum der Fotografie präsentiert wird, zeugt von der Vielfalt der Schriften und Perspektiven, die von der Galerie vertreten werden. Die Galerie wurde 1986 von Michèle Aittouarès gegründet und wird seit 2000 gemeinsam von ihrer Tochter Odile geleitet, die eine eigene Abteilung für Fotografie ins Leben ruft. Mit Strenge, Leidenschaft und Freiheit haben Michèle und Odile dazu beigetragen, die Galerie in der fotografischen Landschaft zu etablieren, indem sie unter anderem John Craven, Mario Giacomelli, Malick Sidibé, Jean Dieuzaide, Antoine Schneck, Letizia Battaglia oder Franco Zecchin präsentierten. Die Ausstellung umfasst etwa vierzig Originaldrucke und bietet einen Rundgang von den 1950er Jahren bis heute. Sie offenbart von Neugier und einem Interesse an vielfältigen fotografischen Praktiken geleitete Entscheidungen: eine grafische Fotografie, wie die von Mario Giacomelli, im Dialog mit der Malerei, aber auch eine humanistische und engagierte Fotografie. verkörpert von Jean Dieuzaide und Laetitia Battaglia oder noch plastisch mit Antoine Schneck. Diese seit vielen Jahren durchgeführte Arbeit an den Werken dieser Künstler - persönliche Ausstellungen, Bücher, Videoberichte - hat einige von ihnen entdeckt und ermöglicht, die Bekanntheit anderer zu festigen, was der Galerie, die auf dem Fotomarkt präsent ist, einen Status als Experte verleiht. On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the Galerie Berthet-Aittouarès brings together in an exhibition the twenty photographers who have accompanied its history. Presented as part of PhotoSaintGermain and the celebration of the bicentenary of photography, this event reflects the diversity of writings and perspectives defended by the gallery. Founded in 1986 by Michèle Aittouarès, the gallery is run jointly by his daughter Odile, from 2000, who creates a sector dedicated to photography. With rigor, passion and freedom, Michèle and Odile helped to impose the gallery in the photographic landscape by presenting notably John Craven, Mario Giacomelli, Malick Sidibé, Jean Dieuzaide, Antoine Schneck, Letizia Battaglia or Franco Zecchin. Bringing together about forty original prints, the exhibition offers a journey from the 1950s to today. It reveals choices guided by curiosity and an interest in multiple photographic practices: a graphic photography, like that of Mario Giacomelli, in dialogue with painting, but also a humanistic and committed photography, played by Jean Dieuzaide and Laetitia Battaglia, or as a visual artist with Antoine Schneck. This work, carried out over many years on the work of these artists—personal exhibitions, books, video reports—has helped discover some of them and established the reputation of others, giving the gallery, which is present in the photography market, a status of expertise. In occasione dei suoi 40 anni, la galleria Berthet-Aittouarès riunisce in una mostra i venti fotografi che hanno accompagnato la sua storia. Presentata nell'ambito di PhotoSaintGermain e della celebrazione del bicentenario della fotografia, questa manifestazione testimonia la diversità delle scritture e degli sguardi difesi dalla galleria. Fondata nel 1986 da Michèle Aittouarès, la galleria è diretta congiuntamente dalla figlia Odile, dal 2000, che crea un settore dedicato alla fotografia. Con rigore, passione e libertà, Michèle e Odile hanno contribuito a imporre la galleria nel panorama fotografico presentando in particolare John Craven, Mario Giacomelli, Malick Sidibé, Jean Dieuzaide, Antoine Schneck, Letizia Battaglia o Franco Zecchin. Riunendo una quarantina di stampe originali, l'esposizione propone un percorso dagli anni '50 ai giorni nostri. Rivela scelte guidate dalla curiosità e un interesse per molteplici pratiche fotografiche: una fotografia grafica, come quella di Mario Giacomelli, in dialogo con la pittura, ma anche una fotografia umanistica e impegnata, interpretata da Jean Dieuzaide e Laetitia Battaglia o ancora plasticiana con Antoine Schneck. Questo lavoro svolto per molti anni sulle opere di questi artisti - mostre personali, opere, video reportage - ha fatto scoprire alcuni di loro e ha permesso di stabilire la notorietà di altri, conferendo alla galleria, presente sul mercato della fotografia, uno status di competenza. À l’occasion de ses 40 ans, la galerie Berthet-Aittouarès réunit dans une exposition les vingt photographes qui ont accompagné son histoire. Présentée dans le cadre de PhotoSaintGermain et de la célébration du bicentenaire de la photographie, cette manifestation témoigne de la diversité des écritures et des regards défendus par la galerie. Fondée en 1986 par Michèle Aittouarès, la galerie est dirigée conjointement par sa fille Odile, à partir de 2000, qui crée un secteur dédié à la photographie. Avec rigueur, passion et liberté, Michèle et Odile ont contribué à imposer la galerie dans le paysage photographique en présentant notamment John Craven, Mario Giacomelli, Malick Sidibé, Jean Dieuzaide, Antoine Schneck, Letizia Battaglia ou Franco Zecchin. Réunissant une quarantaine de tirages originaux, l’exposition propose un parcours des années 1950 à nos jours. Elle révèle des choix guidés par la curiosité et un intérêt pour des pratiques photographiques multiples : une photographie graphique, comme celle de Mario Giacomelli, en dialogue avec la peinture, mais aussi une photographie humaniste et engagée, incarnée par Jean Dieuzaide et Laetitia Battaglia ou encore plasticienne avec Antoine Schneck. Ce travail mené depuis de longues années sur l'œuvre de ces artistes — expositions personnelles, ouvrages, reportages vidéo — a fait découvrir certains d'entre eux et permis d’asseoir la notoriété d'autres, conférant à la galerie, présente sur le marché de la photographie, un statut d’expertise. Comme l’écrit l’historien de l’art Pierre Wat, à propos de la démarche de Michèle et Odile Aittouarès, «je m’inscris dans les pas de ce goût partagé : chercher dans l’art, la trace de l’humanité »
