Anlässlich des Zweihundertjahrs der Fotografie stellt sich Lorraine de Sagazan eine dramatische und immersive Aufführung vor, die von einem Gründungsmoment an begann: der offiziellen Enthüllung des Daguerreotyps an der Akademie der Wissenschaften am 19. August 1839.
Unter der Kuppel des Institut de France spielt die Vorstellung die beiden Reden von François Arago an der Akademie der Wissenschaften nach, während sie die vergessenen, konkurrierenden oder marginalisierten Stimmen hervorbringt, die ebenfalls an der Erfindung der Fotografie beteiligt waren: Nicéphore Niépce, William Henry Fox Talbot, Hippolyte Bayard, Hercule Florence sowie Journalisten, Wissenschaftler, Zeugen und Polemiker der damaligen Zeit.
Diese Schöpfung, die als lebendige Durchquerung der Ursprünge des fotografischen Bildes konzipiert ist, vereint Theater, Archive, Projektionen, Töne und die Manipulation von Objekten. Sie stellt den intellektuellen, politischen und medialen Trubel des Jahres 1839 dar, als die Fotografie im öffentlichen Raum als Versprechen einer Revolution des Blickes auftauchte.
Lorraine de Sagazan führt einen Dialog zwischen Wissenschaftsgeschichte, Kunstgeschichte und darstellender Kunst und hinterfragt die Herstellung der Gründungsgeschichten: Wie wird eine Erfindung zu einem Mythos? Wer schreibt die Geschichte? Wer verschwindet dabei?

On the occasion of the Bicentenary of Photography, Lorraine de Sagazan imagines a theatrical and immersive performance from a founding moment: the official revelation of the daguerreotype at the Academy of Sciences, on 19 August 1839.
Under the dome of the Institut de France, the show replays two speeches delivered by François Arago at the Academy of Sciences, while making heard the forgotten, competing or marginalized voices that also participated in the invention of photography: Nicéphore Niépce, William Henry Fox Talbot, Hippolyte Bayard, Hercule Florence, as well as journalists, scholars, witnesses and polemicists of the time.
Conceived as a living journey through the origins of the photographic image, this creation combines theater, archives, projections, sounds and object manipulation. It restores the intellectual, political and media effervescence of the year 1839, when photography emerged in public space as a promise of revolution of the gaze.
By creating a dialogue between history of science, history of the arts and performing arts, Lorraine de Sagazan questions the fabrication of founding narratives: how does an invention become a myth? Who writes history? Who disappears?

Sotto la cupola dell'Istituto di Francia, lo spettacolo riproduce i due discorsi pronunciati da François Arago all'Accademia delle scienze, facendo sentire le voci dimenticate, concorrenti o emarginate che parteciparono anch'esse all'invenzione della fotografia: Nicéphore Niépce, William Henry Fox Talbot, Hippolyte Bayard, Hercule Florence, nonché giornalisti, studiosi, testimoni e polemisti dell'epoca.
Concepita come un passaggio vivente alle origini dell'immagine fotografica, questa creazione mescola teatro, archivi, proiezioni, suoni e manipolazione di oggetti. Essa restituisce l'effervescenza intellettuale, politica e mediatica dell'anno 1839, quando la fotografia emerse nello spazio pubblico come una promessa di rivoluzione dello sguardo.
Facendo dialogare storia delle scienze, storia delle arti e spettacolo vivente, Lorraine de Sagazan interroga la fabbricazione dei racconti fondatori: come un'invenzione diventa un mito? Chi scrive la storia? Chi scompare?

Conçue comme une traversée vivante des origines de l’image photographique, cette création mêle théâtre, archives, projections, sons et manipulation d’objets. Elle restitue l’effervescence intellectuelle, politique et médiatique de l’année 1839, lorsque la photographie surgit dans l’espace public comme une promesse de révolution du regard.

Con motivo del Bicentenario de la Fotografía, Lorraine de Sagazan imagina una actuación teatral e inmersiva a partir de un momento fundador: la revelación oficial del daguerrotipo en la Academia de las Ciencias el 19 de agosto de 1839.
Bajo la cúpula del Instituto de Francia, el espectáculo reproduce los dos discursos pronunciados por François Arago en la Academia de las Ciencias, al tiempo que hace oír las voces olvidadas, competidoras o marginadas que también participaron en la invención de la fotografía: Nicéphore Niépce, William Henry Fox Talbot, Hippolyte Bayard, Hercule Florence, así como periodistas, científicos, testigos y polémicos de la época.
Concebida como una travesía viva de los orígenes de la imagen fotográfica, esta creación mezcla teatro, archivos, proyecciones, sonidos y manipulación de objetos. Restituye la efervescencia intelectual, política y mediática del año 1839, cuando la fotografía surgió en el espacio público como una promesa de revolución de la mirada.
Al hacer dialogar historia de las ciencias, historia de las artes y espectáculo vivo, Lorraine de Sagazan interroga la fabricación de los relatos fundadores: ¿cómo una invención se convierte en un mito? ¿Quién escribe la historia? ¿Quién desaparece?
