Zwischen Geschichte und Fantasie hat sich die Stadt Carcassonne ständig verändert... sowohl in der Realität als auch in den Blicken auf sie. Die Ausstellung "La Cité, récit en images" lädt dazu ein, diese faszinierende Entwicklung durch die Darstellungen zu erkunden, die ihre Legende geprägt haben.
Die Stadt, Geschichte in Bildern
Die Ausstellung zeichnet die Entwicklung der Stadt Carcassonne anhand einer reichen Sammlung von Bildern nach: Zeichnungen, Manuskripte, Fotografien, Gemälde, Filme... Sie beleuchtet die Art und Weise, wie aus einer mächtigen Festung ein symbolträchtiges Denkmal des Mittelalters wurde, das manchmal in unerwarteten Verwendungen neu interpretiert wird: Werbung, Merchandising, kulturelle Materialien.
Um die Wende zum 20. Jahrhundert erwies sich die Stadt als das Bild eines idealisierten und legendären Mittelalters. Postkarten, Werbeplakate, Filme und Fernsehfilme, die in natürlicher Umgebung gedreht wurden, sind an diesem Bau beteiligt. Auch heute noch werden diese Darstellungen durch zahlreiche Produkte - Objekte, Comics, Videospiele - weiter gefördert und verbreitet.
Gedacht für die breite Öffentlichkeit, ist die Ausstellung Teil des ständigen Besuchsprogramms. Die zahlreichen Fotografien, die von der Entwicklung des Bildes der Stadt im Laufe der Zeit zeugen, nehmen einen zentralen Platz in den ausgestellten Sammlungen ein.

Between history and imagination, the city of Carcassonne has never ceased to transform... as much in reality as in the looks on it. The exhibition "La Cité, récit en images" invites us to explore this fascinating evolution through the representations that have shaped its legend.
La Cité, a story in pictures
The exhibition traces the evolution of the city of Carcassonne through a rich set of images: drawings, manuscripts, photographs, paintings, films... It highlights the way in which, from a powerful fortress, it became an emblematic monument of the Middle Ages, sometimes reinterpreted in unexpected uses: advertisements, merchandise, cultural supports.
At the turn of the 20th century, the City emerged as an image of the idealized and legendary Middle Ages. Postcards, advertising posters, films and TV movies shot in a natural setting contribute to this construction. Even today, many derivative products—objects, comics, video games—continue to fuel and spread this representation.
Thought for the general public, the exhibition is integrated into the permanent visit path. The numerous photographs, witnesses of the evolution of the image of the City over time, occupy a central place in the collections presented.

Tra storia e immaginario, la città di Carcassonne non ha cessato di trasformarsi... sia nella realtà che negli sguardi rivolti su di essa. L'esposizione "La Cité, récit en images" invita a ripercorrere questa affascinante evoluzione attraverso le rappresentazioni che hanno plasmato la sua leggenda.
La città, narrazione in immagini
La mostra ripercorre l'evoluzione della città di Carcassonne attraverso un ricco insieme di immagini: disegni, manoscritti, fotografie, quadri, film... Mette in luce il modo in cui, da fortezza potente, è diventata un monumento emblematico del Medioevo, a volte reinterpretato in usi inaspettati: pubblicità, prodotti derivati, supporti culturali.
All'inizio del XX secolo, la città si impone come l'immagine di un medioevo idealizzato e leggendario. Cartoline, manifesti pubblicitari, film e TV girati in ambienti naturali partecipano a questa costruzione. Ancora oggi, molti prodotti derivati - oggetti, fumetti, videogiochi - continuano ad alimentare e diffondere questa rappresentazione.
Pensato per il grande pubblico, l'esposizione si integra nel percorso di visita permanente. Le numerose fotografie, testimoni dell'evoluzione dell'immagine della Città nel corso del tempo, occupano un posto centrale nelle collezioni presentate.

La Cité, récit en images
L’exposition retrace l’évolution de la Cité de Carcassonne à travers un riche ensemble d’images : dessins, manuscrits, photographies, tableaux, films… Elle met en lumière la manière dont, de forteresse puissante, elle est devenue un monument emblématique du Moyen Âge, parfois réinterprété dans des usages inattendus : publicités, produits dérivés, supports culturels.
Au tournant du XXe siècle, la Cité s’impose comme l’image d’un Moyen Âge idéalisé et légendaire. Cartes postales, affiches publicitaires, films et téléfilms tournés en décor naturel participent à cette construction. Aujourd’hui encore, de nombreux produits dérivés — objets, bandes dessinées, jeux vidéo — continuent d’alimenter et de diffuser cette représentation.
Pensée pour le grand public, l’exposition s’intègre au parcours de visite permanent. Les nombreuses photographies, témoins de l’évolution de l’image de la Cité au fil du temps, occupent une place centrale dans les collections présentées.

Entre la historia y el imaginario, la ciudad de Carcasona no ha dejado de transformarse... tanto en la realidad como en las miradas que se le hacen. La exposición «La Cité, récit en images» invita a recorrer esta evolución fascinante a través de las representaciones que han dado forma a su leyenda.
La Cité, relato en imágenes
La exposición describe la evolución de la ciudad de Carcasona a través de un rico conjunto de imágenes: dibujos, manuscritos, fotografías, cuadros, películas... Pone de relieve la manera en que, de fortaleza poderosa, se convirtió en un monumento emblemático de la Edad Media, a veces reinterpretado en usos inesperados: publicidad, productos derivados, medios culturales.
En el cambio del siglo XX, la ciudad se impone como la imagen de una Edad Media idealizada y legendaria. Tarjetas postales, carteles publicitarios, películas y telefilmes rodados en un entorno natural participan de esta construcción. Aún hoy, muchos productos derivados -objetos, historietas, videojuegos- siguen alimentando y difundiendo esta representación.
Pensada para el gran público, la exposición se integra en el recorrido de visita permanente. Las numerosas fotografías, testigos de la evolución de la imagen de la ciudad a lo largo del tiempo, ocupan un lugar central en las colecciones presentadas.
