Seit den Anfängen der Fotografie ist das Tier immer wieder im Visier der Fotografen erschienen. Das Tiermodell untersucht, wie diese Bilder unsere Sicht auf Tiere geprägt und beeinflusst haben, wie wir sie lieben, ausbeuten oder verteidigen.
Durch einen thematischen Rundgang, der bedeutende Werke und anonyme Bilder vereint, hinterfragt die Ausstellung den Platz des Tieres in unserer visuellen Kultur. Sie versammelt Fotografien aus dem 19. bis 21. Jahrhundert und lädt dazu ein, die Grenzen zwischen Mensch und Tier neu zu überdenken.
Die Ausstellung wurde gemeinsam mit den Rencontres d'Arles produziert.

Since the beginning of photography, the animal has not ceased to appear in the viewfinder of photographers. Animal model explores how these images have shaped our view of animals and influenced the way we love, exploit or defend them.
Through a thematic journey mixing major works and anonymous images, the exhibition questions the place of the animal in our visual culture. It brings together photographs from the 19th to the 21st centuries, and invites us to rethink the boundaries between humans and animals.
The exhibition is co-produced with the Rencontres d'Arles.

Sin dagli albori della fotografia, l'animale è sempre apparso nel mirino dei fotografi. Il modello animale esplora come queste immagini hanno plasmato la nostra visione degli animali e influenzato il nostro modo di amarli, sfruttarli o difenderli.
Attraverso un percorso tematico che unisce opere importanti e immagini anonime, la mostra interroga il posto dell'animale nella nostra cultura visiva. Raccoglie fotografie dal XIX al XXI secolo, e invita a ripensare i confini tra l'uomo e il mondo animale.
L'esposizione è co-prodotta con gli Incontri di Arles.

Depuis les débuts de la photographie, l’animal n’a cessé d’apparaître dans le viseur des photographes. Modèle animal explore comment ces images ont façonné notre regard sur les animaux et influencé notre manière de les aimer, de les exploiter ou de les défendre.
À travers un parcours thématique mêlant oeuvres majeures et images anonymes, l’exposition interroge la place de l’animal dans notre culture visuelle. Elle réunit des photographies du 19e au 21e siècles, et invite à repenser les frontières entre l’humain et le monde animal.
L’exposition est co-produite avec les Rencontres d’Arles.

Desde los inicios de la fotografía, el animal no ha dejado de aparecer en la mira de los fotógrafos. El modelo animal explora cómo estas imágenes han dado forma a nuestra visión de los animales e influido en la manera en que los amamos, los explotamos o los defendemos.
A través de un recorrido temático que combina obras importantes e imágenes anónimas, la exposición interroga el lugar del animal en nuestra cultura visual. Reúne fotografías de los siglos XIX al XXI, e invita a repensar las fronteras entre el ser humano y el mundo animal.
La exposición es coproducida con los Encuentros de Arles.
