A living tradition, the Escalade has been celebrated by the people of Geneva since the 17th century. The publication of La nuit de l'Escalade in 1915, and Le Siècle de la Réforme in 1917, two books illustrated by Édouard Elzingre, popularized the event and influenced the costumes of the historic procession. This exhibition shows the most striking images of that famous night of December 11-12, 1602. Ah, the beautiful Escalade!
