"Manga Moe" High School Manga Award
The inter-college prize "Manga Moe" is created by the colleges Jules Verne and Victor Hugo de Bourges, Irène Joliot-Curie de Mehun-sur-Yèvre, Voltaire de Saint-Florent-sur-Cher and Albert Camus de Vierzon.
The aim of this prize is to introduce students to quality mangas and to develop critical thinking through argumentation and debate. It also makes it possible to meet students from different schools, to discover Asian countries represented in mangas and to raise awareness about drawing professions.
Following a pre-selection by the partner bookstore Kimshoten, students are offered a list of 6 to 7 mangas of various genres and classifications.
The students of the "Manga Moe" prize undertake to read at least 4 of these books and to vote at the end of the year for their favorite manga according to the associated calendar. This vote must be accompanied by a short, well-reasoned review of the drawing, the story and the characters.
2019-2020 calendar: launch of the prize by October, exchanges (by email, tweets, blog, forum, letters, meetings...) between institutions from December to February (until February 15, 2020), votes in March (until March 6, 2020), announcement of results on March 12, 2020.
