Murmures aux archives, installation de bande dessinée hors-les-livres An exhibition by Sarah Ayadi, Olivier Crépin, Audrey Hess and Pilau
What happens to comics when they escape from books and
screens? When it emancipates from the individual reading tools that
determine his handwriting?
In the National Archives, four authors of the
Sinée experiment with a narrative installation «excluding books». The authors create an in situ comic strip: a collective narrative with writing and reading closely determined by the topography, the physical characteristics and the nature of the place. The story unfolds on walls, floors, ceilings, even in furniture or in volume, while remaining undoubtedly a comic book narrative, based on the sequentiality of the images. Each device imagined for this purpose is therefore thought, not as a simple visual gadget or as a whim of a scenographer, but as a real narrative gain for the story of comic strip that it carries, and without which the latter would not make sense.
