Path of the industrial heritage of Wasselonne
Wasselonne, industrial epic poem
Strong of a rich industrial heritage which stays neglected, the municipality of Wasselonne set up a path of interpretation(performance) to promote the industrial past of the city which forged its identity during the three centuries.
Mossig allows the development of industry in the XVIIIth century, by supplying the water to tanneries and hydraulic energy in the mills which settle down by the river. From Wasselonne in the hamlet of The Stationery via(including) the district of Brechlingen, one working thanks to hydraulic strength takes a census in 1773 of 19 mills and factories. In the XIXth century, brasseries(breweries), woollen shadowings(spinnings) and especially industry of slippers take over. The big(great) innovations of time(period) regarding transport, communication, energy, health are also evoked during the route(course).
The path of industrial heritage, from the parking lot of the street of November 23rd, is broken down into two trilingual circuits (French, German, English): "Wasselonne side Mossig" (9 panels(signs), about 1 hour, for the pedestrians) and "Autour de Brechlingen" (8 panels(signs), about 1 h 30, for pedestrians and cyclists).
