In the confluence of the Dear and of the Loire, the gardens of the castle of Villandry extend between a wooded headland and the village over 12 metres of gradient. These are gardens of the XXth century inspired by Renaissance and drawn by Joachim Carvallo. Arranged in terraces, a garden of water, gardens of ornaments, a kitchen garden, a maze and a recent garden of the Sun are discovered to it.
