The factory of Sarreguemines came into the world during French Revolution. Very early, thanks to researches(searches) and to tries(essays) led by his director, Paul Utzschneider, his products distinguished themselves by their quality, their solidity and their price(prize), accessible(approachable) to all categories of the population.
From the first years of its existence, the pottery sells the goods well beyond national borders. In the course of time(weather) and thanks to the evolution of means of transportation and of commercial methods(course books), she(it) is present on all continents: they travellers and retailers in Russia, in Australia are found, in Egypt, in Mexico This export contributes to build the fame of the pottery and make known the City of Sarreguemines worldwide.
Several big(great) themes are developed in exhibition(exposure), to understand better how the pottery managed to send its production all over the world. What commercial methods(course books) were used to promote the image of the factory? What geographical zones were favoured for the opening of new markets? How production fitted to tastes of this new clientele?
Annexation, not very present historic time(period) today in school textbooks(manual workers) but so important for the history(story) of our territory will be also evoked because it forced the pottery to rethink its marketing strategy. What consequences could have the unification with the German Empire over the sales of the factory? It is in these questions that we are going to try to answer across this exhibition(exposure).
