LATTARA, GAULISH PORT IN THE MEDITERRANEAN The ancient city of Lattara built on the edge of the lagoon, in the Lez Delta, was a crossroads of civilizations. Etruscans, Greeks, Iberians, Romans and local Gallic populations intertwined in a promising context, marked by the dynamics of economic and cultural exchanges in the North-Western Mediterranean. This port was in operation from the 6th century BCE until the 3rd century. The museum and the adjoining archeological site invite you to travel to this port city, through the presentation of objects from successive excavation campaigns on Lattara and its surroundings. From the Bronze age to Roman times, the tour unfolds a wide panorama of the way of life of these populations, at the heart of a vast network of Mediterranean exchanges.
