The Louis-Philippe Museum of the Château d'Eu houses in its collections paintings, tapestries, furniture and art objects that have been part of the decoration of this residence. If the collections are devoted to telling the history of the castle, they evoke particularly Louis-Philippe and his family, as well as the Entente Cordiale, thanks to paintings by Eugène Isabey, Eugène Lepoittevin, and François-Auguste Biard.
The great names of the decorative arts of the time are present thanks to the donation of Doctor Albert Court. Nearly 140 objects collected by this museum friend allow visitors to admire the know-how of the Sèvres manufacture or the goldsmith Christofle.
The collections also house an exceptional set of 46 portraits of the Guise family, which form the heart of the castle’s large reception room. Let’s not forget the original Brazilian heritage whose most spectacular testimony remains the sedan. The latter was commanded by King John V of Portugal and arrived straight from Braz
