Arnold Schönberg (whose 150th birthday is this year) is one of the major figures of music in the first half of the 20th century, he made his career in Vienna, Berlin and then in the United States.

On Saturday, November 16 at 6 p.m., Michel Gaechter will give a piano recital with, among other things, the transcription he made of the famous Transfigured Night (Verklärte Nacht), as well as works by Debussy and Bartók, Wagner and Brahms.

On Sunday, November 17 at 4:30 p.m., Hélène Le Corre (soprano) and Michel Gaechter will give a voice/piano recital, including one of the greatest masterpieces in the history of Lied, Schönberg's The Book of Hanging Gardens (Das Buch der hängenden Gärten), as well as works by Debussy, Ravel and Alban Berg.

These two concerts will allow you to hear a magnificent Blüthner piano from 1877.

About the artists:
Michel Gaechter studied in Paris Freiburg, he teaches at the Strasbourg Conservatory. He recorded the complete piano works of Schönberg, then produced and recorded a transcription for solo piano of the Transfigured Night, which attracted the interest of the Arnold Schoenberg Center in Vienna. Hélène Le Corre studied in Paris and Vienna (Austria). She was part of the troupe at the Opéra National de Lyon and the Opéra de Bern, and is currently pursuing a career as a soloist.
