On the set, a Zidane jersey, some VHS tapes and a giant screen. It’s not much and it’s huge. Yasmine Yahiatène, trained in video and performance, signs with La Fracture a first solo as sober as striking. She summons Ahmed, her Kabyle father, the one from whom she had to learn how to mourn during her lifetime, caught up in alcohol. Drawing in white gouache on the floor, filmed live with a camcorder, she blurs the boundaries between memory and fiction. Colonial history, exile, the 1998 World Cup are superimposed on the screen via a skillful mapping, until the dizzying moment when his face merges with that of his father. The Fracture makes intimacy political. A show of few words that does not give answers, but asks the right questions.
This show is part of the Focus EMERGE, an event dedicated to the new generation of artists on the European scene, deployed in March and April 2027 in Valenciennes, Maubeuge, Villeneuve d'Ascq, Amiens and Beauvais.

Sur le plateau, un maillot de Zidane, quelques cassettes VHS et un écran géant. C’est peu et c’est immense. Yasmine Yahiatène, formée à la vidéo et à la performance, signe avec La Fracture un premier solo aussi sobre que saisissant. Elle y convoque Ahmed, son père kabyle, celui dont elle a dû apprendre à faire le deuil de son vivant, rattrapé par l’alcool. Dessinant à la gouache blanche sur le sol, filmée en direct au caméscope, elle brouille les frontières entre souvenir et fiction. Histoire coloniale, exil, Coupe du monde de 1998 se superposent à l’écran via un mapping habile, jusqu’au moment vertigineux où son visage fusionne avec celui de son père. La Fracture rend l’intime politique. Un spectacle de peu de mots qui ne donne pas de réponses, mais pose les bonnes questions.
Ce spectacle fait partie du Focus EMERGE, rendez-vous consacré à la nouvelle génération d’artistes de la scène européenne, déployé en mars et avril 2027 à Valenciennes, Maubeuge, Villeneuve d’Ascq, Amiens et Beauvais.

Op de set, een Zidane Jersey, wat VHS tapes en een gigantisch scherm. Het is klein en het is enorm. Yasmine Yahiatène, getraind in video en performance, tekent met de breuk een eerste solo zo nuchter als hij opvallend is. Ze riep Ahmed op, haar Kabyle vader, degene die ze moest leren rouwen tijdens haar leven, ingehaald door alcohol. Ze tekent witte gouache op de grond, live gefilmd op camcorder, vervaagt de grenzen tussen geheugen en fictie. Koloniale geschiedenis, ballingschap, het WK 1998 worden op het scherm geprojecteerd door middel van een bekwame kaart, tot het duizelingwekkende moment waarop zijn gezicht samensmelt met dat van zijn vader. De breuk maakt de intieme politiek. Een voorstelling van een paar woorden die geen antwoorden geeft, maar de juiste vragen stelt.
Deze show maakt deel uit van de focus EMERGE, een bijeenkomst gewijd aan de nieuwe generatie kunstenaars uit de Europese scène, die plaatsvond in maart en april 2027 in Valenciennes, Maubeuge, Villeneuve d'Ascq, Amiens en Beauvais.
