The profusion of nature and its symbolism fascinate Pre-Raphaelite artists who make it one of their favorite subjects. In their works, budding roses, green meadows and lush trees grow discreetly around thoughtful or dreamy silhouettes. Worn as a crown to adorn the hair during ceremonies in ancient times, the plant world has integrated clothing over the centuries and technological developments. Whatever his painting, botanical or fanciful, it is finely linked to the history of fabric.
For the spring season and in response to the exhibition Préraphaélisme—Itinéraires féminins, the first floor of the basin hatches a mosaic of textile gardens. Nature grows as well on the canvas of a painting as on the weave of a fabric!

Une heure, un regard. Rendez-vous un mardi par mois pour rencontrer une œuvre, un artiste ou une thématique avec un guide durant environ 30 minutes. La discussion se poursuit ensuite, tous ensemble, au restaurant du musée. Régalez-vous !

Le foisonnement de la nature et sa symbolique fascinent les artistes préraphaélites qui en font l’un de leurs sujets de prédilection. Dans leurs œuvres, roses en bourgeons, prairies verdoyantes et arbres luxuriants poussent discrètement autour de silhouettes pensives ou rêveuses. Porté en couronne pour orner les chevelures lors de cérémonies pendant l’Antiquité, le monde végétal intègre au fil des siècles et des évolutions technologiques le vêtement. Quelle qu’en soit sa peinture, botanique ou fantaisiste, il est finement lié à l’histoire de l’étoffe.
Pour la saison du printemps et en écho à l’exposition Préraphaélisme—Itinéraires féminins, le premier étage du bassin fait éclore une mosaïque de jardins textiles. La nature pousse aussi bien sur la toile d’un tableau que sur la trame d’un tissu !

Eén uur, één blik. Ontmoet een dinsdag per maand een werk, artiest of thema met een gids voor ongeveer 30 minuten. De discussie gaat dan, samen, verder in het museumrestaurant. Feest op!
Dinsdag 13 april 2027 om 12:30 uur kunt u onze textiel- en modecollectie ontdekken via de tentoonstelling NatureTextile
De overvloed aan natuur en zijn symboliek fascineren Pre-Raphaelite kunstenaars die het tot een van hun favoriete onderwerpen maken. In hun werk groeien knupprozen, groene weiden en weelderige bomen discreet rond pensieve of dromerige silhouetten. Gedragen in een kroon om het haar te versieren tijdens ceremonies in de oudheid, de plantenwereld integreert door de eeuwen heen en technologische evoluties het kledingstuk. Wat zijn schilderij ook is, botanisch of grillig, hij is nauw verbonden met de geschiedenis van de stof.
Voor het voorjaarsseizoen en in navolging van de tentoonstelling Pre-Raphaelism—Women's Reisroutes, de eerste verdieping van het bassin luik een mozaïek van textieltuinen. De natuur groeit zowel op het doek van een schilderij als op de inslag van een stof!
