Spend an evening discovering the world of chiropterans. Chiro... what? Yes, those animals that fly with their hands, the bats! On Friday August 23, these little-known and fascinating animals will be the focus of the Nuit des chauve-souris (Night of the Bats) at the Parc des Evaux, with games, events, lectures and walks in the company of specialists eager to pass on their knowledge and deconstruct preconceived ideas about bats in order to better protect them.
Salle évènementielle des Evaux and its terrace
For chiropterists of all ages:
- Conference on bats (7pm, 8pm and 9pm): everything you need to know about the species in Switzerland and around the world
- Booths: experts talk to you about the ecology and protection of the world's only flying mammals.
- Study: different methods for studying nocturnal and inaudible animals
- Bat protection: how to help bats at home
- Bats in difficulty: how the ARBOR care center takes care of them
- Parc des Evaux: how to encourage nature in the park
- Taxidermy demonstration with a specialist from the Muséum.
For budding chiropterists:
- Bat bingo- Orienteering
- Mask and make-up decorating
Refreshment bar all evening and restaurant nearby.
In the park:
- Acoustic walks: every 30 minutes from 8:30pm (registration required that evening at reception).

Le temps d’une soirée, venez découvrir le monde des chiroptères. Les chiro… quoi? Mais oui, ces animaux qui volent avec leurs mains, les chauves-souris! Le vendredi 23 août, ces animaux méconnus et fascinants sont à l’honneur de la Nuit des chauves-souris, au Parc des Evaux.
Au programme: jeux, animations, conférences et balades en compagnie de spécialistes impatient·es de transmettre leur savoir et de déconstruire les idées reçues à leur sujet afin de mieux les protéger.
Salle évènementielle des Evaux et sa terrasse
Pour les chiroptérologues de tous âges:
• Conférence sur les chauves-souris (19h, 20h et 21h):
tout savoir sur les espèces suisses et du monde entier.
• Stands: des experts vous parlent de l’écologie et de la protection
des seuls mammifères volants au monde.
• Étude: les différentes méthodes pour étudier des animaux nocturnes et inaudibles
• La protection des chauves-souris : et si on les favorisait à la maison?
• Chauves-souris en difficulté : comment le centre de soins ARBOR les prend en charge?
• Parc des Evaux: Comment favoriser la nature dans le Parc?
• Démonstration de taxidermie avec une spécialiste du Muséum.
Pour les chiroptérologues en herbe:
• Bingo chauves-souris
• Course d’orientation
• Décoration de masques et maquillages
Buvette toute la soirée et restaurant à proximité.
Dans le parc
• Balades acoustiques: toutes les 30 min dès 20h30 (sur inscription le soir-même à l’accueil)
