The launch of a new musical creation in the MEG Sound Gallery.
In 2022, MEG inaugurated a new broadcasting space in the Foyer (level -1), transformed into a Sound Gallery. The very first work to be broadcast in this space was an octophonic sound installation entitled Climat, created by Amandine Casadamont. Each year a new work is proposed, and on Friday 20 September 2023 there will be a vernissage for a new sound creation based on old and recent recordings collected in Amazonia.lasting around 20 minutes in total, this work is composed from extracts of recordings taken from magnetic tapes, vinyl records and DAT cassettes held in MEG's sound archives, intermingled with recent recordings collected by Mathias Lewy. To mark the launch of this new space dedicated to music and sound, MEG is inviting a Wayana delegation from the Brazilian Amazon to take part in the exhibition.
