Bei seiner Gründung im Jahr 1875 war das Renée-Sabran-Krankenhaus für Kinder mit Tuberkulose konzipiert worden. Seine Berufung blieb im 20. Jahrhundert bestehen, doch nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg änderte sich sein Angebot an Behandlungen. Its vocation continued in the twentieth century but its offer of care evolved after the First World War. New buildings followed this boom from the 1930s and reflect the particularities of contemporary sanitary architecture.
