This duet reinvents the feminine and oral Moroccan tradition of aïta (cry, lament) for today’s public. Widad Mjama’s intense, almost wild voice marries the riffatured and electro-rock arrangements of the Tunisian multi-instrumentalist Khalil Epi, enhanced by strings, percussion and a traditional choir, transforming this rural and ancestral art into pure psychedelic energy!

He gathers around him talented musicians to honor in their own way a rural tradition that has become one of the sources of raï: that of the Medahates women who animated family celebrations in Western Algeria. La voce intensa, quasi selvaggia, di Widad Mjama sposa i riffssaturati e gli arrangiamenti electro-rock del multistrumentista tunisino Khalil Epi, arricchiti da corde, percussioni e un coro tradizionale, trasformando quest'arte rurale e ancestrale in pura energia psichedelica!
