1942, Alexandria. Egypt, under British rule, is expecting the next arrival of German troops; the battle of el-Alamein is imminent. Yehia, an American movie star teenager, wants to become an actor and is preparing a show with his classmates from the Catholic high school.
The programme ends with Alexandrie pourquoi? by Youssef Chahine, on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the great Egyptian filmmaker. A film emblematic of his work and deeply personal, which returns to the roots of a committed, free and autobiographical Mediterranean cinema.
