m provisorischen Gerichtsgebäude von Coppet beginnt der größte Prozess, den die Stadt je erlebt hat. Einer der Angeklagten wird beschuldigt, einen verheerenden Tsunami verursacht zu haben. Das behaupten der Richter, ein wohlhabender Geschäftsmann, und seine Freunde von Vereinigung der Mächtigen vom Genfersee. Um ihn gegen diese Verschwörung zu verteidigen, wird ein ungewöhnliches Team zusammengestellt.
Schließlich kommt die Wahrheit ans Licht. Für die Einwohner ist der See ein Schatz, der bewahrt werden muss. Die Öffentlichkeit wird Zeuge und Bewahrer der Geschichte dieses Gewässers. Ein fantastisches Abenteuer entfaltet sich auf der Oberfläche des Genfersees. Teils philosophische Erzählung, teils historischer Bericht, erzählt „Der Prozess um den Genfersee“ mit einem Hauch von Wahrheit, wie der See einst beinahe verschwunden wäre.

At the temporary courthouse in Coppet, the biggest trial the town has ever seen is about to begin. One of the defendants is accused of causing a terrible tsunami. This is the claim of the judge, a wealthy businessman, and his friends from the Lake Powers Association. To defend him against this conspiracy, an unlikely team is assembled.
Finally, the truth comes out. For the inhabitants, the lake is a treasure to be preserved. The public becomes a witness to and a repository of the memory of these waters. A fantastical adventure unfolds on the surface of Lake Geneva. Part philosophical tale, part historical narrative, "The Trial of Lake Geneva" recounts, with a touch of the truth, how the lake once nearly vanished.

Au Tribunal éphémère de Coppet, on attend le plus grand procès que la commune n’ait jamais connu. Un des personnages est accusé d’être responsable d’un terrible tsunami. C’est ce qu’affirment le juge, riche entrepreneur et ses amis de l’association des Puissants du lac. Pour le défendre face à un complot, une équipe improbable se constitue.
Finalement la vérité éclate. Pour les habitants, le lac est un trésor à préserver. Le public devient témoin et mémoire de ces eaux. Une aventure fantastique se joue à la surface du Léman. Conte philosophique ou récit d’histoire, « Le procès du Léman » raconte, non sans s’approprier la vérité, comment le lac a un jour, failli disparaître.
