On the occasion of the Appointment in the Garden 2024 Floema aps, an association that takes care of the Gardens of Santa Chiara and the Garden of the Bastion of Santa Lucia, opens the ancient door allowing the visit with continuous opening hours 10-18. The visit is free and free. You can visit the strip of land set between the two walls that houses the social gardens until you reach the ancient Bastion.

The garden has been reopened to the public for 2 years, thanks to the Centomila Orti project in Tuscany. The walkway develops between the ancient walls and medieval antimura and leads to the Garden of the Bastion of Saint Lucia. On the side of the walkway are visible the vegetable gardens cultivated by the horticulturists who have joined the project. The association Floema, which takes care of the spaces, organizes events and workshops of an agricultural, educational, social, artistic and cultural nature, promoting the creation of a resilient community, more connected with nature.

Access

From the parking lot of the Antica Porta del Ponte, looking towards the city center, turn left into Via Santa Croce passing under the arch. Immediately left a large wooden door with the license plate. From Piazza Torre di Berta looking in the opposite direction of the Duomo, turn right at the end, take the first alley on the left, which leads to the Ancient Gates of the Bridge. Turn right passing under the arch to enter via Santa Croce. A large wooden door on the left is the access to the gardens.
