Comines and its Grand Place
After the First World War, which left Comines only a field of ruins, life gradually regained its rights. The city was inspired by its past to retrace its streets and design its buildings, influenced by the style that was his and that of his region: the Flemish Renaissance. The Town Hall and the Saint-Chrysole church emerge from the ground to give shape to the Grand Place. Through this guided tour, you will discover the UNESCO World Heritage Belfry and a neo-Byzantine church.
Practical information
- Rates: 5 € adult/ 2 € child (5 to 15 years), payment (check or cash) only at the reception of the tourist office before the visit at opening hours: from Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 to 12:30 and from 14h to 17:30, Saturday from 10h to 12h30 and Sunday (May-September) from 2pm to 6pm.
- Appointment: the meeting point will be given once the reservation is confirmed.

- Without prior registration, the guide will not be able to integrate you into the group. Payment on site not accepted.*

Comines et sa Grand Place
Après la Première Guerre mondiale qui ne laisse de Comines qu'un champ de ruines, la vie reprend peu à peu ses droits. La ville s'inspire alors de son passé pour retracer ses rues et dessiner ses bâtiments, influencée par ce style qui fut le sien et celui de sa région : la Renaissance flamande. L'Hôtel de Ville et l'église Saint-Chrysole sortent de terre pour donner forme à la Grand Place. Au travers de cette visite guidée, vous découvrirez le beffroi classé au Patrimoine Mondial de l'UNESCO et une église de style néo-byzantin.

- Tarifs : 5€ adulte / 2€ enfant (5 à 15 ans), paiement (chèque ou espèces) uniquement à l’accueil de l’office de tourisme en amont de la visite aux horaires d’ouverture : du mardi au vendredi de 9h30 à 12h30 et de 14h à 17h30, le samedi de 10h à 12h30 et le dimanche (mai-septembre) de 14h à 18h.
- RDV : le point de rendez-vous sera donné une fois la réservation confirmée.

Na de eerste Wereldoorlog, die Comines slechts een ruïnegebied liet, herwon het leven geleidelijk zijn rechten. De stad liet zich inspireren door haar verleden om haar straten na te bootsen en haar gebouwen te ontwerpen, beïnvloed door de stijl die hij en die van zijn regio was: De Vlaamse renaissance. Het stadhuis en de Saint-Chrysole kerk komen uit de grond om vorm te geven aan de grote markt. Tijdens deze rondleiding ontdekt u het Belfort dat op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat en een neo-Byzantijnse kerk.

- Prijzen: 5 € volwassene/ 2 € kind (5 tot 15 jaar), betaling (cheque of contant) alleen bij de receptie van het VVV-kantoor voor het bezoek op openingstijden: van dinsdag t/m vrijdag van 9.30 tot 12.30 uur en van 14.00 tot 30 uur, zaterdag van 10.00 tot 12.30 uur en zondag (mei-september) van 14.00 tot 18.00 uur.
- Afspraak: Het ontmoetingspunt wordt gegeven zodra de reservering is bevestigd.
