Beyond the Arctic Circle lives an indigenous people, the Sami, whose survival depends on their close relationship with nature and animals. Their Sápmi territory, formerly called Lapland, stretches from Norway to the Kola Peninsula in Russia. In this workshop you will create an object inspired by Sámi shamanic drums and their motifs. These drums, long banned by the religious and colonial authorities, have given rhythm to the life of the Sami people. A way to pay tribute to their struggle and resistance to their rights while discovering their history.
