When the energy transition turns into green colonialism is the title of a journalistic investigation conducted for Heidi.news in 2021 by climate journalist Rachel Barbara Häubi.
What is green colonialism? What is sustainability if, in the name of sustainability, we prevent the sustainable practices of indigenous peoples from being perpetuated? How are the batteries in our future electric cars at stake in green colonisation, which is also being practised by Switzerland?
Join us for a discussion with climate journalist Rachel Barbara Häubi and Jo Morten Kåven, Sami artist, among others. The discussion is open to all and takes place at the heart of the temporary exhibition Memories: Geneva in the colonial world.
This event takes place on the first Sunday of the month, so it's free and there's no need to register in advance.
