Created in 1993, the Yvann Alexandre Company is a professional contemporary dance company from the Pays de la Loire region.
Attached since its beginnings to the back and forth between professionals, amateurs and the public, the company develops its creations as much for the stage as for non-dedicated places, and weaves an ambitious policy of exchanges, meeting and transmission.
From the beginning, Yvann Alexandre's creative engines have stemmed from the human encounter. He starts his processes with transmission, to then move on to the writing of a work.
With this creation, whose sound design is inspired by the MEG's International Archives of Folk Music (IAFM), the choreographer Yvann Alexandre imagines a distant Lake of "signs", a territory of ambiguities that evokes notions of confinement and liberation. In a light and dark atmosphere populated by sounds evoking the density of an Amazon forest, bodies allow themselves to be crossed by river states. As if carried away by the current, each of the performers defends the vision of a work of resistance and resilience. It is the urgent desire for skin that makes law, the crossbow that crosses and stuns. And the echo of a Lake in the flesh.

Créée en 1993, la Compagnie Yvann Alexandre est une compagnie professionnelle de danse contemporaine de la région des Pays de la Loire.
Attachée depuis ses débuts aux allers-retours entre les professionnel-le-s, les amateurs et les amatrices ainsi que les publics, la compagnie développe ses créations autant pour la scène que pour des lieux non dédiés, et tisse une politique ambitieuse d’échanges, de rencontre et de transmission.
Dès ses débuts, les moteurs de création d’Yvann Alexandre découlent de la rencontre humaine. Il démarre ses processus par la transmission, pour cheminer ensuite à l’écriture d’une œuvre.
Avec cette création, dont la conception sonore est inspirée des Archives internationales de musique populaire (AIMP) du MEG, le chorégraphe Yvann Alexandre imagine un lointain Lac des «signes».
«Dans une atmosphère claire-obscure peuplée de sons évoquant la densité d’une forêt Amazone, des corps se laissent traverser d’états-fleuves. Comme emportés par le courant, chacun des interprètes vient défendre la vision d’une œuvre de résistance et de résilience. C’est le désir urgent de peau qui fait loi, l’arbalète qui traverse et sidère. Et l’écho d’un Lac dans la chair».
