Guided tour of the metro stations
Today, the metro system spans nearly 45 km, divided into two lines and 60 stations. Maybe you use it every day. But do you know why he doesn’t have a driver? Have you noticed that the stations are all different? That you can discover works of art? That all are equipped with an elevator?
Rest assured, all these questions will be answered during the visit! It will be an opportunity to discover the history of this innovative mode of transport (origin of the project, development of routes, mode of construction, etc.) and to observe some stations, carefully designed by local architects and artists. Aerial, underground, decorated with frescoes or sculptures, the visit will give you another look at these everyday equipment! An illustrated booklet of archival documents will be given to participants to complete their discovery of this railway heritage.
Meet in front of the station Villeneuve-d'Ascq - Hôtel de Ville, at the exit that leads to the shopping center V2 (Chaussée des Visiteurs). The tour will end at Gare Lille-Europe. A metro ticket will be provided.
