Discover the city center of Wambrechies
The «Cité du juniper» is nestled just 7 kilometres north of Lille on the banks of the Deûle. Although the texts that evoke Wambrechies date from the Xleme century, the parish is much earlier than this date. The village experienced a major boom when Jeanne de Constantinople, countess of Flanders, had the Basse Deûle from Lille to be channelled to Deûlémont. The appearance of textile and agri-food industries as well as the seigneury of Wambrechies mark its history and contribute to its reputation. Other buildings will also reveal their secret during this walking tour.
