Saturday, September 20, follow the visit of the architect who has rehabilitated the premises of this exceptional religious complex into magnificent housing.
The architecture of the Carmel is a model of brutalist architecture. On the ground given by the Count of Montalembert to the association Kerith, Philippe Lepère is inspired by Le Corbusier to realize 500 m2 of concrete modules painted white.
In 1997, a family of architects settled in the common areas: refectory, chapel and places of prayer. Three families buy the buildings in the park, converted into dwellings.
The architects rehabilitate the Carmel in the respect of the original project, then ask for its classification to the historical monuments.

L’architecture du Carmel constitue un modèle de l'architecture brutaliste. Sur le terrain donné par le comte de Montalembert à l'association Kerith, Philippe Lepère s'inspire de Le Corbusier pour réaliser 500 m2 de modules de béton peints en blanc.
En 1997, une famille d'architectes s'installe dans les parties communes : réfectoire, chapelle et lieux de prières. Trois familles achètent les bâtiments situés dans le parc, convertis en habitations.
Les architectes réhabilitent le Carmel dans le respect du projet d'origine, puis demandent son classement aux monuments historiques.
L'inscription à l'Inventaire supplémentaire des façades et toitures est prononcée le 21 novembre 2001.

De architecten reïneren de Karmel ten opzichte van het oorspronkelijke project, vragen vervolgens om de classificatie ervan aan de historische monumenten.
