Getrieben vom Wunsch, eine Stadt zu bezeugen, ging André Grimard zwischen 1900 und 1930 durch die Straßen von Bayonne und fotografierte jedes noch so kleine Detail. Er hat fast 500 Aufnahmen auf Glasplatten gemacht. Mit Aquarellen und Zeichnungen nimmt der Künstler die Landschaften, die er durch die Fotografie fixiert hat, wieder auf, retuschiert sie und belebt sie.

Driven by the desire to bear witness to a city, André Grimard walks through the streets of Bayonne and photographs the smallest details between 1900 and 1930. He takes nearly 500 shots on glass plates. Through watercolor and drawing, the artist takes up, retouches, animates the landscapes he has fixed with photography.
