Since its creation, Old School Funky Family has established itself as a true sound laboratory, where funk, jazz, afrobeat and video game music influences merge into a unique identity.
Led by Jérôme Martineau-Ricotti, composer and artistic director of the project, the group has refined over the years an original composition highlighting the expressive power of its saxophone quartet and the irresistible dynamics of its rhythm section: sousaphone, drums, guitar and keyboards.
Their latest album, entitled Peluches Vol. I, takes the opposite side of an era that is sometimes too seriously adult. Inspired by a form of naivety and often mocked lightness, this opus celebrates the simple and instinctive joy of music: that which makes you dance, vibrate and fly away.
Aware of the chance to practice a profession where you can say "je vais jouer", the band signs with this new album a tribute to the pure energy and joys of childhood, lulled by these solar music that it continues to honor today.
