Sylvain Dessi ist 27 Jahre alt, als er beschließt, ein Stahltal zu verewigen, stolz auf seine Kathedralen aus Eisen und Stahl, mit erhobenem Kopf in den Straßen von Longwy, in Paris am 23. März 1979 oder auf den Wellen mit SOS Emploi, aber auch mit "Lorraine Coeur d'Acier", die ersten freien Radiosender, die von Gewerkschaftsorganisationen eingerichtet wurden, um Wut über die Grenzen Lothringens hinaus zu verbreiten. So taucht er uns in diese Welt ein, in der die Solidarität angesichts der Gefährlichkeit eines Berufes Königin ist, in der der Kampf um «Leben, Arbeiten und Studieren im Land» Platz macht für Industriebrachen und die Leere einer verhinderten Erinnerung.
Diese Ausstellung ist das Zeugnis einer Arbeiter- und Industriekultur, die seit dem 19. Jahrhundert das Leben eines ganzen Beckens geprägt hat. Neben den Aufnahmen von Sylvain Dessi ist eine Ausstellung mit einer Reihe von Originalarchiven, die von der Vereinigung AMICAL gesammelt wurden, sowie eine Auswahl von Büchern für diejenigen, die sich mehr über diese menschliche und industrielle Geschichte informieren möchten, vorgesehen.
Die Ausstellung ist auch am Hauptsitz des Großraums Longwy zu sehen.

Sylvain Dessi was 27 when he decided to immortalize a steel valley breathless, proud of its iron and steel cathedrals, head high in the streets of Longwy, Paris on March 23, 1979 or on the airwaves with SOS Emploi, but also with "Lorraine Cœur d'Acier", the first free radio stations set up by the trade unions, to spread anger beyond the borders of Lorraine. This is how he plunges us into this universe where solidarity is king in the face of the dangerousness of a profession, where the struggle to «live, work and study in the country» gives way to industrial wastelands and the emptiness of a prevented memory.
This exhibition is the testimony of a working class and industrial culture that has shaped the life of an entire basin since the 19th century. Alongside the photographs of Sylvain Dessi, is proposed the exhibition of a series of original archives collected by the association AMICAL, as well as a selection of works for those who want to learn more about this human and industrial history.

Sylvain Dessi ha 27 anni quando decide di immortalare una valle siderurgica senza fiato, orgogliosa delle sue cattedrali di ferro e acciaio, a testa alta per le strade di Longwy, a Parigi il 23 marzo 1979 o ancora in onda con SOS Emploi, ma anche con "Lorraine Coeur d'Acier", le prime radio libere istituite dalle organizzazioni sindacali, per diffondere la rabbia oltre i confini della Lorena. È così che ci immerge in questo universo dove la solidarietà è regina di fronte alla pericolosità di un mestiere, dove la lotta per «vivere, lavorare e studiare nel paese» lascia il posto alle zone industriali abbandonate e al vuoto di una memoria impedita.
Questa mostra è la testimonianza di una cultura operaia e industriale che ha forgiato la vita di un intero bacino dal XIX secolo. Accanto agli scatti di Sylvain Dessi, viene proposta l'esposizione di una serie di archivi originali raccolti dall'associazione FRIENDS, nonché una selezione di opere per chi vuole documentarsi maggiormente su questa storia umana e industriale.
Esposizione visibile anche nella sede dell'Agglomerato del Grande Longwy.

Sylvain Dessi a 27 ans, quand il décide d’immortaliser une vallée sidérurgique à bout de souffle, fière de ses cathédrales de fer et d’acier, la tête haute dans les rues de Longwy, à Paris le 23 Mars 1979 ou encore sur les ondes avec SOS Emploi, mais également avec "Lorraine Cœur d’Acier", premières radios libres mises en place par les organisations syndicales, pour diffuser la colère au-delà des frontières de la Lorraine. C’est ainsi qu’il nous plonge dans cet univers où la solidarité est reine face à la dangerosité d’un métier, où la lutte pour «vivre, travailler et étudier au pays» laisse place aux friches industrielles et au vide d’une mémoire empêchée.
Cette exposition est le témoignage d’une culture ouvrière et industrielle qui a forgé la vie de tout un bassin depuis le XIXe siècle. Aux côtés des clichés de Sylvain Dessi, est proposée l’exposition d’une série d’archives originales collectées par l’association AMICAL, ainsi qu’une sélection d’ouvrages pour celles et ceux qui veulent se documenter davantage sur cette histoire humaine et industrielle.

Sylvain Dessi tiene 27 años, cuando decide inmortalizar un valle siderúrgico sin aliento, orgullosa de sus catedrales de hierro y acero, con la cabeza alta en las calles de Longwy, en París el 23 de marzo de 1979 o en las ondas con SOS Emploi, pero también con "Lorraine Coeur d'Acier", las primeras radios libres creadas por las organizaciones sindicales para difundir la ira más allá de las fronteras de Lorena. Así nos sumerge en este universo donde la solidaridad es reina frente a la peligrosidad de un oficio, donde la lucha por «vivir, trabajar y estudiar en el país» deja paso a los páramos industriales y al vacío de una memoria impedida.
Esta exposición es el testimonio de una cultura obrera e industrial que ha forjado la vida de toda una cuenca desde el siglo XIX. Junto a las fotografías de Sylvain Dessi, se propone la exposición de una serie de archivos originales recogidos por la asociación AMICAL, así como una selección de obras para quienes quieran documentarse más sobre esta historia humana e industrial.
