Eine weiße Kuppel, in der Mitte der Weinreben(Weinberge), ragt das Tal von Wien in einer Höhe von 105 m über. Das astronomische vom 1988 bis zum 1990 gebaute Observatorium von Chinon ist seit 1991 operativ. Es wird vom Verein Astronomie in Chinonais belebt.
