Dieser Ort war von 1822 bis 1845 Unterschlupf, in einem neuen Flügel, dem Zivilgericht.
Seit 1845 ist dort die Stadtbibliothek eingerichtet.
Im Erwachsenenbildungsraum, 25 Meter lang und mit
17'000 alte Bände, von den Wäldern bis zu den ikonischen Skulpturen
Die im 18. Jahrhundert für die Bibliothek der ehemaligen Abtei Cistercienne de La Ferté (Gemeinde Saint-Ambreuil) angefertigten Dokumente sind sichtbar. Sie wurden in der Revolution beschlagnahmt, wie die Bücher, die sie enthielten,
Emilland-Gauthey), der dann die erste Bibliothek von Chalon-sur-Saône überließ. Später wurden sie wieder eingesetzt, als die Bibliothek auf dem Gelände des alten Klosters der Carmen eingerichtet wurde.
Die geradlinigen Hölzer dieser Waldstämme sind mit Akanthenblättern auf dem Gipfel, mit geometrischen Verzierungen und mit Blüten im Innern der Hölzer verziert. Im oberen Teil der Regale sind Schnitzbänder zu sehen, von denen einige allegorische Darstellungen tragen.
Ursprünglich entsprachen die Themen der Skulpturen dem Inhalt der Tablare. Ein himmlischer Globus und ein Erdglobus aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, beide handgeschrieben und von dem kapuzianischen Mönch Louis Legrand gemacht, vervollständigen die Kulisse. Die Erde zeigt für jedes Land die Merkmale von Klima, Relief, Populationen, Fauna und Flora: Nordamerika ist «unbekanntes Land», aber dank der Berichte spanischer jesuitischer Missionen seit dem 17. Jahrhundert, Südamerika hat viele Anmerkungen. Der Himmelsglobus ist auf die gleiche Weise ein Zeuge des astronomischen Wissens des 18. Jahrhunderts; dieses hat die Besonderheit, die Konstellation von «Chesne de Charles II» darzustellen.Er wurde von dem Astronomen Edmond Halley zu Ehren von König Charles II. von England erfunden, der sich nach seiner Niederlage in Worcester 1651 24 Stunden lang in einem Baum versteckt hielt.
In den Jahren 2020-2021 hat der Studienraum der Stadtbibliothek mehrere Monate lang unter der Leitung des Architekturdienstes der Stadt Chalon wichtige Arbeiten zur Erhaltung und bestmöglichen Erhaltung seiner Sammlungen geleistet.
Über die Bewahrung der Sammlungen hinaus wurden alle Umbauten geplant, damit die Chalonnai diesen Raum unter besseren Bedingungen besuchen und nutzen können.
Die größte Bedrohung war die plötzliche und wiederholte Veränderung der Temperaturen. Damit die Amplituden unabhängig von der Jahreszeit stabil bleiben, wurde das Heizungs- und Klimatisierungssystem komplett neu gebaut.
Die Beleuchtung, die zu viel Licht ausstrahlte, wurde erneuert und durch eine neue LED-Beleuchtung ersetzt, um Helligkeitsunterschiede auszuspielen und so mehrere Ambiente im selben Raum zu schaffen.
Die Tische im Untersuchungsraum wurden mit Elektrizität ausgestattet, um Computer anschließen zu können, und es wurden moderne und angepasste Leselampen beschafft.
Da Feuchtigkeit einer der schlimmsten Feinde des Papiers ist, wurde auch die Luftfeuchtigkeit gründlich untersucht.
Die Decke wurde gestrichen und der Boden renoviert.

This place housed from 1822 to 1845, in a new wing, the civil court.
Since 1845, the municipal library has been installed there.
In the adult study room, 25 metres long and containing
17,000 volumes, from woodwork to iconic sculptures
made in the 18th century for the library of the former Cistercian abbey of La Ferté (commune of Saint-Ambreuil) are visible. Confiscated by the Revolution, like the books they contained, they were first deposited on the site of the former college (present high school
Émiland-Gauthey), which later became the first library of Chalon-sur-Saône. They were later reused when the library was installed on the site of the former Carmelite convent.
The rectilinear pilasters of these woodwork are decorated with acanthus leaves at the top, geometric decorations and florets inside the pilasters. In the upper part of the shelves one can observe carved bands, some of which carry allegorical representations.
Originally, the themes of the sculptures corresponded to the contents of the shelves. A celestial globe and a terrestrial globe of the eighteenth century, both manuscripts and made by the Capuchin monk Louis Legrand, complete the decor. The globe indicates for each country the characteristics of the climate, the relief, the populations, the fauna and the flora: North America is «unknown land», but thanks to the reports of the Spanish Jesuit missions since the seventeenth century, South America is full of annotations. The celestial globe is in the same way a witness of the astronomical knowledge of the eighteenth century; it has the particularity of representing the constellation of the «Chesne of Charles II», invented by the astronomer Edmond Halley in homage to King Charles II of England who hid for twenty-four hours in a tree after his defeat at Worcester in 1651.
In 2020-2021, the study room of the municipal library benefited for several months from essential work to preserve and preserve its collections as well as possible, under the direction of the Architecture department of the City of Chalon.

The lighting, which released too many lumens, was renewed and replaced by a new LED lighting allowing to play on the differences of brightness and thus create several atmospheres within the same room.
The tables in the study room were equipped with electricity to connect modern and adapted computers and reading lamps.
Humidity being one of the worst enemies of paper, background work on hygrometry was also carried out.
Finally, the ceiling has been painted and the parquet floor renovated.

Nella sala studio degli adulti, lunga 25 metri e contenente
17.000 volumi antichi, dalle boiserie alle sculture emblematiche
realizzate nel XVIII secolo per la biblioteca dell'antica abbazia cistercense di La Ferté (comune di Saint-Ambreuil) sono visibili. Confiscati alla Rivoluzione, come i libri che contenevano, sono stati depositati prima sul sito del vecchio collegio (attuale liceo
Émiland-Gauthey), che divenne la prima biblioteca di Chalon-sur-Saône. Esse furono in seguito reimpiegate durante l'installazione della biblioteca sul sito dell'ex convento dei Carmelitani.

In origine, le tematiche delle sculture corrispondevano al contenuto degli scaffali. Un globo celeste e un globo terrestre del XVIII secolo, entrambi manoscritti e realizzati dal monaco cappuccino Louis Legrand, completano la decorazione. Il globo terrestre indica per ogni paese le caratteristiche del clima, del rilievo, delle popolazioni, della fauna e della flora: l'America del Nord vi è «terra sconosciuta», ma grazie ai rapporti delle missioni gesuite spagnole dal XVII secolo, l'America del Sud è piena di annotazioni. Il globo celeste è allo stesso modo un testimone delle conoscenze astronomiche del XVIII secolo; quest'ultimo ha la particolarità di rappresentare la costellazione del «Chesne di Carlo II», inventata dall'astronomo Edmond Halley in omaggio al re Carlo II d'Inghilterra che si tenne nascosto per ventiquattro ore in un albero dopo la sua sconfitta a Worcester nel 1651.
Nel 2020-2021, la sala studio della biblioteca municipale ha beneficiato per diversi mesi di lavori essenziali per preservare e conservare al meglio le sue collezioni, sotto la guida del servizio Architettura della Città di Chalon.
Al di là di garantire la conservazione delle collezioni, tutte le ristrutturazioni sono state pensate affinché i Chalonnais potessero visitare e utilizzare questa sala in migliori condizioni.
La minaccia principale era il cambiamento improvviso e ripetuto delle temperature. Per mantenere le ampiezze stabili in qualsiasi stagione, il sistema di riscaldamento e condizionamento è stato completamente rifatto.
L'illuminazione, che emetteva troppi lumen, è stata rinnovata e sostituita da una nuova illuminazione a LED che permette di giocare sulle differenze di luminosità e di creare così diversi ambienti all'interno della stessa stanza.
I tavoli della sala studio sono stati dotati di elettricità per potervi collegare computer e lampade di lettura moderne e adattate.
Essendo l'umidità uno dei peggiori nemici della carta, è stato anche fatto un lavoro di sfondo sull'igrometria.
Infine, il soffitto è stato ridipinto e il parquet ristrutturato.

Este lugar albergaba de 1822 a 1845, en un ala nueva, el tribunal civil.
Desde 1845 se instaló la biblioteca municipal.
En la sala de estudio de adultos, de 25 metros de largo y que contiene
17.000 volúmenes antiguos, desde carpinterías hasta esculturas emblemáticas
realizadas en el siglo XVIII para la biblioteca de la antigua abadía cisterciense de La Ferté (municipio de Saint-Ambreuil) son visibles. Confiscadas a la Revolución, como los libros que contenían, fueron depositadas primero en el sitio del antiguo colegio (actual liceo
Émiland-Gauthey), que luego se convirtió en la primera biblioteca de Chalon-sur-Saône. Más tarde fueron reutilizadas durante la instalación de la biblioteca en el sitio del antiguo convento de los Carmelitas.
Las pilastras rectilíneas de estas carpinterías están decoradas con hojas de acanto en la parte superior, decorados geométricos y florones en el interior de las pilastras. En la parte alta de las estanterías se pueden observar bandas esculpidas, algunas de las cuales llevan representaciones alegóricas.
Originalmente, los temas de las esculturas correspondían al contenido de los rayos. Un globo celeste y un globo terrestre del siglo XVIII, ambos manuscritos y realizados por el monje capuchino Louis Legrand, completan la decoración. El globo terrestre indica para cada país las características del clima, del relieve, de las poblaciones, de la fauna y de la flora: América del Norte es «tierra desconocida», pero gracias a los informes de las misiones jesuitas españolas desde el siglo XVII, América del Sur está llena de anotaciones. El globo celeste es de la misma manera un testigo de los conocimientos astronómicos del siglo XVIII; éste tiene la particularidad de representar la constelación del «Chesne de Carlos II»inventada por el astrónomo Edmond Halley en homenaje al rey Carlos II de Inglaterra que se mantuvo oculto durante veinticuatro horas en un árbol después de su derrota en Worcester en 1651.
En 2020-2021, la sala de estudio de la biblioteca municipal se benefició durante varios meses de obras esenciales para preservar y conservar al máximo sus colecciones, bajo la dirección del servicio Arquitectura de la Ciudad de Chalon.
Más allá de garantizar la preservación de las colecciones, todas las remodelaciones se han pensado para que los Chalonnais puedan visitar y utilizar esta sala en mejores condiciones.
La amenaza principal era el cambio repentino y repetido de las temperaturas. Para mantener las amplitudes estables en cualquier época del año, el sistema de calefacción y aire acondicionado ha sido completamente renovado.
La iluminación, que emitía demasiados lúmenes, se renovó y sustituyó por una nueva iluminación LED que permitía jugar con las diferencias de luminosidad y crear así varios ambientes dentro de la misma habitación.
Las mesas de la sala de estudio fueron equipadas con electricidad para poder conectar ordenadores y lámparas de lectura modernas y adaptadas.
Como la humedad es uno de los peores enemigos del papel, también se ha realizado un trabajo de fondo sobre la humedad.
Finalmente, el techo ha sido repintado y el suelo renovado.
