Entdecken Sie mit einem Führer des Vereins l'Araire ein majestätisches römisches Wasserwerk: das römische Aquädukt von Gier. 1,5 Stunden Besichtigung, um die Geschichte und den teilweise unterirdischen, aber auch luftigen Betrieb zu verstehen. Mit 86 km ist es das längste Aquädukt, das nach Lugdunum führt. Es begann in Izieux in der Loire, am Fuße des Pilat-Massivs, dank einer Captage im Fluss Gier. Mehrere Überreste sind heute noch sichtbar, insbesondere in der Gemeinde Mornant. Auf dem Gelände des Mornantet entdecken Sie einen vollständigen Bogen und eine Säule, die alle mit der Verkleidung "opus reticulatum bedeckt sind. Die Tour geht weiter mit dem Kanal, der an dieser Stelle beginnt, das Dorf unterirdisch zu durchqueren. Zum Abschluss werden Sie vom tiefsten Schacht des Mornant-Tunnels verführt, der den Römern den Zugang zum Inneren des Kanals für seinen Bau und seine Wartung ermöglichte.

With a guide from the association l'Araire, discover a majestic Roman hydraulic structure: the Roman aqueduct of Gier. 1h30 visit to understand its history and its operation partly underground but also aerial. With 86 km, it is the longest aqueduct leading to Lugdunum. It started from Izieux in the Loire, at the foot of the Pilat massif, thanks to a catchment in the river Gier. Several remains are still visible today and especially in the town of Mornant. On the site of the Mornantet, you will discover a complete arch and a pillar, all covered with the facing "opus reticulatum. The visit will continue with the canal which at this point begins its crossing of the village underground. Finally, you will be seduced by the deepest manhole of the Mornant tunnel that allowed the Romans to access the inside of the canal for its construction and maintenance.

Con una guida dell'associazione Araire, partite alla scoperta di un'opera idraulica romana maestosa: l'acquedotto romano del Gier. 1 ora e mezza di visita per capire la sua storia e il suo funzionamento in parte sotterraneo ma anche aereo. Con 86 km è il più lungo acquedotto che conduce a Lugdunum. Partiva da Izieux nella Loira, ai piedi del massiccio del Pilat, grazie ad un captaggio nel fiume Gier. Diverse vestigia sono ancora visibili oggi e in particolare sul comune di Mornant. Sul sito del Mornantet, scoprirete un arco completo e un pilastro, il tutto coperto dal paramento "l'opus reticulatum. Il tour proseguirà con il canale che in questo luogo inizia la sua traversata del villaggio in sotterraneo. Infine, sarete sedotti dal pozzo più profondo del tunnel di Mornant che permetteva ai Romani di accedere all'interno del canale per la sua costruzione e per la sua manutenzione.

Avec 86 km, c'est le plus long aqueduc menant à Lugdunum. Il partait d'Izieux dans la Loire, au pied du massif du Pilat, grâce à un captage dans la rivière du Gier. Plusieurs vestiges sont encore visibles aujourd'hui et notamment sur la commune de Mornant. Sur le site du Mornantet, vous découvrirez une arche complète et un pilier, le tout recouvert du parement "l'opus reticulatum. La visite se poursuivra avec le canal qui à cet endroit commence sa traversée du village en souterrain. Pour terminer, vous serez séduits par le plus profond puits de regard du tunnel de Mornant qui permettait aux Romains d'accéder à l'intérieur du canal pour sa construction et pour son entretien.

Con 86 km, es el acueducto más largo hasta Lugdunum. Partía de Izieux en el Loira, al pie del macizo del Pilat, gracias a una captación en el río Gier. Varios vestigios son todavía visibles hoy en día, especialmente en el municipio de Mornant. En el sitio de Mornantet, descubrirá un arco completo y un pilar, todo cubierto con el revestimiento "el opus reticulatum. El recorrido continuará con el canal que en este lugar comienza su travesía del pueblo bajo tierra. Por último, le seducirá el pozo de mirada más profundo del túnel de Mornant que permitía a los romanos acceder al interior del canal para su construcción y mantenimiento.
