1976 veröffentlichte Marie-Thérèse Chalon (1902-1978) bei Stock Ein Leben wie ein Tag, an dem sie die Erinnerungen an ihr Leben in Carpentras und im Comtat Venaissin im Herzen des 20. Jahrhunderts erinnerte. In 1976, Marie-Thérèse Chalon (1902-1978) published Stock A Life as a Day in which she evoked memories of her life in Carpentras and Comtat Venaissin in the heart of the 20th century. In a beautiful style, clear and clear, she testifies to her happy childhood in a farm 2 km from Carpentras, then her installation in the center of the city where she held a business for several decades, street Porte de Mazan. In uno stile bello, chiaro e limpido, testimonia la sua felice infanzia in una fattoria a 2 km da Carpentras, poi la sua installazione nel centro della città dove ha tenuto un commercio per diversi decenni, rue Porte de Mazan. Prefazione di Robert Sabatier, questa autobiografia ha avuto un grande successo al momento della sua uscita, coronata dal premio Broquette-Gonin assegnato dall'Académie française. Marie-Thérèse Chalon ha segnato l'opinione pubblica quando è invitata, l'11 giugno 1976, sul set di Apostrophe, la trasmissione televisiva presentata da Bernard Pivot. La nostra modesta carpentrassienne mostra una naturalezza e un aplomb notevoli.
Suo figlio, Jean Chalon, famoso scrittore e giornalista, ha donato all'Inguimbertine il manoscritto di queste memorie. Sono quattro quaderni pieni di una bella scrittura in inchiostro blu che arricchiscono il fondo dei manoscritti della venerabile biblioteca carpentrassienne. Aux côtés des autres sources authentiques, ces quatre cahiers constituent un témoignage direct, sorti de la main de Marie-Thérèse Chalon, mis à la disposition des historiens d’aujourd’hui et de demain soucieux de comprendre le Comtat Venaissin et le XXe siècle.
