Die Anlage stammt aus dem 15\. Jahrhundert und war zunächst ein Steinbruch zur Gewinnung von Dachziegelsteinen und diente dem Bau renommierter Stätten wie des Schlosses von Montsoreau und der Königlichen Abtei von Fontevraud. Dann diente es als Wohnung, bevor es zur Champignonfabrik wurde.
