Das 1886 beschlossene Theater erhebt sich zwischen dem Messegelände und dem Place du Breuil, dem Prunkplatz der Stadt. Das Projekt wurde vom Ponot-Architekten Antoine Martin entworfen. Die Maler Assezat de Boutheyre und Bernard haben die Decke des Saals und mit Charles Maurin die Tafeln des Foyers realisiert. Es wurde am 8. Juli 1893 von Raymond Poincaré, Minister für öffentliche Bildung, Kunst und Kultus, Delegierter von Charles Dupuy, berühmter Ponot, Präsident des Rates eingeweiht.

Decided in 1886, the theatre rises between the Champ de Foire and the Place du Breuil, the town’s ceremonial square. The project is designed by the ponot architect Antoine Martin. The painters Assezat de Boutheyre and Bernard designed the ceiling of the hall and, with Charles Maurin, the panels of the foyer. It was inaugurated on July 8, 1893 by Raymond Poincaré, Minister of Public Instruction, Fine Arts and Cults, delegated by Charles Dupuy, illustrious ponot, President of the Council.

Deciso nel 1886, il teatro si erge tra il Campo della Fiera e la place du Breuil, piazza d'apparat della città. Il progetto è stato progettato dall'architetto ponot Antoine Martin. I pittori Assezat de Boutheyre e Bernard hanno realizzato il soffitto della sala e, con Charles Maurin, i pannelli del foyer.
