🎬 ANIMATOU presents the animated feature DECORADO in a special Geneva premiere screening at Cinéma Bio in Carouge
Following Psiconautas and Unicorn Wars, Spanish filmmaker Alberto Vázquez returns with a new animated feature for adults, winner of numerous awards, including the 2026 Goya Award for Best Animated Film and the Paul Grimault Award at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival 🏆
Beneath its cartoon surface, populated by anthropomorphic animals, DECORADO conceals a fiercely contemporary dystopia. Vázquez subverts the comforting imagery of early Disney and classic cartoons to explore social control, conformity, work, relationships and consumerism -and that strange pressure to look happy when everything is falling apart.
With no Swiss distributor to date and no theatrical release currently announced, this is a rare opportunity to discover DECORADO on the big screen!!!
DECORADO – SYNOPSIS | What if everything were just a set?
Arnold is a middle-aged, unemployed mouse going through an existential crisis. His relationship is falling apart, and the world around him is beginning to look increasingly suspicious. What if his city, his job, his neighbours, his friends, his entire life, were nothing more than one gigantic staged reality?
