Public Speaking is a course that prepares you to go from script to stage in presenting your ideas to a wider community. Whether speaking to 5, 50, 500, or 5000 people, the basics of how you use your voice and design your content to be meaningful to your audience remain the same. Through this course, you will learn some of these basic techniques, while reviewing examples of their use by other public speakers and finding ways of adapting those techniques in meaningful ways to your own preparation.
Course Content
• Understanding your audience & their attention spans
• Establishing and using a common thread in your talk
• Storytelling for live audiences using facts and figures
• Debating and persuasive speaking techniques; memorization techniques
• Videoconferencing and interviewing online
Course Objectives
Public Speaking will initiate participants into the art of persuasion and prepare them to use the tools and techniques required to perform on stage and thus train their capacity to contribute to high-level exchanges in international contexts. Through lectures, workshops, and practical sessions, participants will test and prepare with these tools and adapt them meaningfully, while reporting and communicating in several languages on scientific and technological work to different audiences or publications, both in writing and orally.

Public Speaking est une formation de 7 heures qui préparera les participants à passer du scénario à la scène en présentant leurs idées à une communauté plus large en anglais.

Public Speaking est un cours de 10 heures qui préparera les participants à passer du scénario à la scène en présentant leurs idées à une communauté plus large en anglais. Que l’on s’adresse à 5, 50, 500 ou 5000 personnes, la façon dont on utilise sa voix et conçoit son contenu restent la même. Grâce à ce cours, les participants apprendront certaines techniques de base, tout en examinant des exemples d'autres orateurs utilisant des techniques similaires et en trouvant des moyens de les adapter de manière pertinente à leur propre préparation.
Programme
• Comprendre son public et ses capacités d'attention
• Établir et utiliser un fil conducteur dans son discours
• Raconter une histoire pour un public en direct en utilisant des faits et des chiffres
• Maîtriser l’art du débat et techniques d'expression persuasive
• Se familiariser avec la vidéoconférence et l’interview en ligne
• Utiliser des techniques de mémorisation
Objectifs de la formation
Public Speaking initiera les participants à l'art de savoir-convaincre et les préparera à utiliser les outils et techniques nécessaires pour se produire sur scène, ce qui entraînera leur capacité à contribuer à des échanges de haut niveau dans des contextes internationaux. Par le biais de conférences, d'ateliers et de sessions pratiques, les participants testeront ces outils et s'entraîneront à les adapter de manière pertinente, tout en communiquant en plusieurs langues sur des travaux scientifiques et technologiques à l'intention de différents publics ou publications, tant à l'écrit qu'à l'oral.
