Um 1560 erschien der Protestantismus in Châtillon, das im Laufe der Jahre zu einer Festung mit eigenem Tempel und Friedhof wurde. Der heutige protestantische Tempel hat zunächst eine wirtschaftliche Funktion. Es wurde im 12. Jahrhundert von den Mönchen von St. Benoit, den Herren von Châtillon, erbaut, um die Ernte und die Weinlese zu erhalten. Von den Protestanten erkauft, wird es 1821 zu ihrem Gotteshaus, 137 Jahre nach der Zerstörung des ersten Tempels im Jahr 1684.

L'attuale tempio protestante ha innanzitutto una funzione economica. Fu costruito nel XII secolo dai monaci di St Benoit, signori di Châtillon, per ricevere raccolti e vendemmie. Riscattato dai protestanti, nel 1821 divenne il loro luogo di culto, 137 anni dopo la distruzione nel 1684 del primo tempio.
