Die Vorstellung präsentiert sich in Form eines inszenierten Konzerts rund um das Leben von Jean-Baptiste Lully (1632-1687).
Es handelt sich um einen "imaginären Lully", hier als ein Musiker dargestellt, der sowohl sonnig als auch nostalgisch an sein Geburtsland Italien erinnert. Das Stück wird von einem Komiker, fünf Sängern und Sängerinnen, die ebenfalls Instrumentalisten sind, und einer Cembalistin aufgeführt.
