Abstract:
In strategy-proof direct mechanisms, we propose to measure the power of an agent over an outcome as the sensitivity of the outcome to a change in the agent's action, holding others' actions fixed. The new framework generalises both the notion of opportunity set from the literature on freedom of choice, and established power indices for binary voting; it is also able to extend power measurement to voting with multiple candidates and matching games.
