The spectacular retreat of the glaciers is proof of global warming. Polar ice caps, ice fields, mountain glaciers, permafrost....Bernard Francou and his colleague Christian Vincent, travelled the White Planet to assess the state of these places and remind us that the future of societies, depends on ice, through the sea level, ocean currents, marin resources and a number of economic activities like tourism.

By Bernard Francou, glaciologist at the IRD - Laboratoire d’étude des transferts en hydrologie et environnement (LTHE).

What is new on the White Planet? Learn about the decline of ice and the consequences. - Bernard Francou, Christian Vincent, Glénat, 2015.
