"Shabaab" means "youth" in Arabic. Two men look back on their adolescence—that pivotal time when the strongest friendships are forged, a period they experienced on lands colonized by others.

"Shabaab" means "youth" in Arabic. Two men look back on their adolescence—that pivotal time when the strongest friendships are forged, a period they experienced on lands colonized by others. Two dancers and a puppet travel between past and present, sharing their dreams and the tenderness within them. They embody, by turns, the children they once were and the lives they might have led.

Shabaab signifie la jeunesse en arabe. Deux hommes se souviennent de leur adolescence. Ce moment-clé où se forgent les amitiés les plus fortes et qu’ils ont vécu sur des terres colonisées par d’autres. Deux danseurs et une marionnette voyagent entre passé et présent. Ils nous racontent leurs rêves, la tendresse qui les habite. Ils incarnent tantôt les enfants qu’ils furent, tantôt les vies qu’ils auraient pu mener.
