Im Jahr 1826 fixierte der französische Ingenieur Nicéphore Niépce erstmals ein Bild auf einem Träger. Das Verfahren wurde zahlreichen Entwicklungen unterzogen, insbesondere mit Louis Daguerre und den Brüdern Lumière, sowie dem Material der Verbesserungen, um das zu erreichen, was wir heute kennen, aber die Fotografie war geboren.
Die Stadt Nogent-sur-Seine interessiert sich seit langem für die Fotografie, mit mehreren Ausstellungen dieser Kunst pro Jahr oder der regelmäßigen Reproduktion alter Bilder für historische Ereignisse. Sie wollte sich in das Programm der Veranstaltungen einschreiben, die 2026 und 2027 überall in Frankreich organisiert werden, um den 200. Jahrestag dieser Erfindung zu feiern.

From Niépce to digital, 200 years of photography
In 1826, the French engineer Nicéphore Niépce fixed for the first time an image on a support. The process will undergo many developments, notably with Louis Daguerre and the Lumière brothers, and the material improvements to arrive at what we know today, but photography was born.
The city of Nogent-sur-Seine has been interested in photography for a long time, with several exhibitions of this art each year or the regular reproduction of old images for heritage events. She wanted to join the program of activities organized throughout France in 2026 and 2027 to mark the bicentenary of this invention.
This exhibition, which launches the festivities, recalls the origin of this invention and its evolutions. It is also an opportunity to discuss the profession of photographer in Nogent-sur-Seine, in the 19th or 20th century.
For this presentation covering 200 years of history and bringing together more than 100 cameras from the Gérard Gouhier collection, as well as unpublished photographs of celebrities or events, the city benefits from the collaboration of the Niépce museum in Chalon-sur-Saône and several private lenders.

Ha voluto iscriversi al programma di eventi organizzati in tutta la Francia nel 2026 e 2027 per celebrare il bicentenario di questa invenzione.
Questa mostra, che lancia le festività, ricorda l'origine di questa invenzione e le sue evoluzioni. È anche l'occasione per evocare il mestiere del fotografo a Nogent-sur-Seine, nel XIX secolo o nel XX.

Le procédé connaîtra de nombreux développements, avec notamment Louis Daguerre et les frères Lumière, et le matériel des améliorations pour arriver à ce qu'on connaît aujourd'hui, mais la photographie était née.
La ville de Nogent-sur-Seine s'intéresse depuis logntemps à la photographie avec plusieurs expositions de cet art par an ou la reproduction régulière d'images anciennes pour les événements patrimoniaux. Elle a souhaité s'inscrire dans le programme d'animations organisées partout en France en 2026 et 2027 pour marquer le bicentenaire de cette invention.
Cette exposition, qui lance les festivités, rappelle l'origine de cette invention et ses évolutions. Elle est l'occasion également d'évoquer le métier de photographe à Nogent-sur-Seine, au XIXe siècle ou au XXe.
Pour cette présentation couvrant 200 ans d'histoire et rassemblant plus de 100 appareils photographiques de la collection Gérard Gouhier, et des clichés inédits de célébrités ou d'événements, la ville bénéficie de la collaboration du musée Niépce de Chalon-sur-Saône et de plusieurs prêteurs privés.
