Zum Auftakt des 200-jährigen Jubiläums der Erfindung der Fotografie lädt die Ausstellung „Plein les yeux!“ dazu ein, die Kindheit und ihre Geschichte zu feiern, indem sie den Fokus auf Fotobücher für Kinder richtet. Lange Zeit wurde es unterschätzt, doch es erweist sich als eigenständige Kunstform, die Fotografen von Anfang an mit Begeisterung aufgegriffen haben und bei der sie großen Einfallsreichtum bewiesen, um rund um ihre Bilder Geschichten, Lernbücher oder innovative Alben zu schaffen.
Durch das Prisma der Tierfigur beleuchtet die Ausstellung die Vielfalt der Formen des Fotobuchs für Kinder – vom dokumentarischen Objekt bis zur visuellen Erzählung, vom ästhetischen Manifest bis zum poetischen Bilderbuch – sowie seiner Funktionen – bezeugen, erzählen, erfinden, ordnen, spielen.
Sie vereint moderne und historische Werke sowie Abzüge und zeigt unter anderem Kreationen von Robert Doisneau, Ylla, Marc Riboud, Tomi Ungerer, Charles Fréger, Thérèse Le Prat, Frank Horvat, Jean Lecointre, Alexandre Rodtschenko …

To mark the bicentenary of the birth of photography, the exhibition ‘Plein les yeux!’ celebrates both childhood and history by exploring the photographic picture book for children. Long overlooked, this medium has nevertheless proved to be an art form in its own right, one which photographers embraced with enthusiasm from the outset, demonstrating great inventiveness in creating fictional stories, educational books and innovative albums based on their images.
Through the lens of animal imagery, the exhibition highlights the diversity of forms found in children’s photo books – from documentary works to visual narratives, from aesthetic manifestos to poetic picture books – and their functions – bearing witness, telling stories, inventing, categorising and playing.
Combining modern and vintage books and prints, it brings together, amongst others, works by Robert Doisneau, Ylla, Marc Riboud, Tomi Ungerer, Charles Fréger, Thérèse Le Prat, Frank Horvat, Jean Lecointre and Alexander Rodchenko…

Per inaugurare il bicentenario della nascita della fotografia, la mostra «Plein les yeux!» propone di celebrare l’infanzia e la storia concentrandosi sul libro fotografico per bambini. A lungo sottovalutato, esso si rivela tuttavia una forma artistica a tutti gli effetti, che i fotografi hanno abbracciato fin da subito con entusiasmo, dando prova di grande inventiva nel creare, attorno alle loro immagini, racconti di fantasia, libri didattici o album innovativi.
Attraverso la lente delle figure animali, la mostra mette in luce la pluralità delle forme del libro fotografico per bambini – dall’oggetto documentario al racconto visivo, dal manifesto estetico all’album poetico – e delle sue funzioni – testimoniare, raccontare, inventare, classificare, giocare.
Combinando opere e stampe moderne e d’epoca, la mostra riunisce, tra gli altri, le creazioni di Robert Doisneau, Ylla, Marc Riboud, Tomi Ungerer, Charles Fréger, Thérèse Le Prat, Frank Horvat, Jean Lecointre, Alexandre Rodtchenko…

Pour inaugurer le Bicentenaire de la Photographie, l’exposition Plein les yeux ! propose de célébrer le jeune âge et l’histoire en se penchant sur le livre photographique pour enfants. Longtemps méconsidéré, il s’avère pourtant constituer une forme artistique à part entière dont les photographes se sont saisis d’emblée avec entrain, faisant preuve d’une très grande inventivité pour créer autour de leurs images des fictions, des livres d’apprentissage ou des albums novateurs.
Par le prisme de la figure animale, l’exposition met en lumière la pluralité des formes du livre photographique pour enfants – de l’objet documentaire au récit visuel, du manifeste esthétique à l’imagier poétique – et de ses fonctions – témoigner, raconter, inventer, classer, jouer.
Associant ouvrages et tirages modernes et d’époque, elle réunit entre autres les créations de Robert Doisneau, Ylla, Marc Riboud, Tomi Ungerer, Charles Fréger, Thérèse Le Prat, Frank Horvat, Jean Lecointre, Alexandre Rodtchenko…

Para inaugurar el bicentenario del nacimiento de la fotografía, la exposición Plein les yeux! propone celebrar la infancia y la historia a través del libro fotográfico infantil. Aunque durante mucho tiempo se le ha menospreciado, resulta ser una forma artística en toda regla que los fotógrafos han adoptado desde el principio con entusiasmo, demostrando una gran inventiva para crear, en torno a sus imágenes, ficciones, libros didácticos o álbumes innovadores.
A través del prisma de la figura animal, la exposición pone de relieve la pluralidad de formas del libro fotográfico infantil —desde el objeto documental hasta el relato visual, desde el manifiesto estético hasta el libro de imágenes poético— y de sus funciones —testificar, narrar, inventar, clasificar, jugar—.
Combinando obras y copias modernas y de época, reúne, entre otras, las creaciones de Robert Doisneau, Ylla, Marc Riboud, Tomi Ungerer, Charles Fréger, Thérèse Le Prat, Frank Horvat, Jean Lecointre, Alexandre Rodtchenko…
