Von der Eroberung durch die Armeen des Kalifen Umar um 650 bis zum Niedergang der Tamerlan-Dynastie im 15. Jahrhundert war die Stadt Susa in der iranischen Provinz Khuzistan eine florierende und wirtschaftlich dynamische Stadt. insbesondere dank einer handwerklichen Produktion, die für ihre hohe Qualität bekannt ist. Es ist einer der Aspekte dieser Produktion, der der Keramik, den der neue thematische Parcours bietet, der als besuchbare Reserve eingerichtet wurde. lädt dazu ein, dank einer Auswahl von etwa fünfzig Gegenständen, die während der archäologischen Ausgrabungen in Susa entdeckt und vom Département des arts de l'islam des Louvre verliehen wurden, zu entdecken. Durch ihre technische und ästhetische Vielfalt, durch die importierten und reproduzierten Modelle und durch den Erfindungsreichtum ihrer Dekore beleuchten diese Stücke die Entwicklung des Geschmacks und der Gesellschaft in dieser Grenzregion zwischen Persien und der arabischen Welt im Mittelalter auf originelle Weise.

A thousand years of art and history in medieval Iran
From the conquest by the armies of the Caliph Umar, around 650, until the decline of the Tamerlane dynasty in the 15th century, the site of Susa, in the Iranian province of Khuzistan, was a flourishing and economically dynamic city, notably thanks to artisanal production known for its high quality. It is one of the aspects of this production, that of ceramics, that the new thematic path, installed as a visitable reserve, invites to discover, thanks to a selection of fifty objects discovered during the archaeological excavations of Susa and lent by the Department of Islamic Arts of the Louvre Museum. By their technical and aesthetic diversity, by the models they import and reproduce and by the inventiveness of their decorations, these pieces shed an original light on the evolution of taste and society in this border area between Persia and the Arab world, during the medieval period.

Dalla conquista da parte degli eserciti del califfo Umar, verso il 650, fino al declino della dinastia Tamerlano nel XV secolo, la città di Susa, nella provincia iraniana del Khuzistan, fu una città fiorente e economicamente dinamica. in particolare grazie a una produzione artigianale nota per la sua alta qualità. È uno degli aspetti di questa produzione, quello della ceramica, che il nuovo percorso tematico, installato in riserva visitabile, invita a scoprire, grazie ad una selezione di una cinquantina di oggetti scoperti durante gli scavi archeologici di Susa e prestati dal Dipartimento delle arti dell'Islam del museo del Louvre. Per la loro diversità tecnica ed estetica, per i modelli che importano e riproducono e per l'inventiva delle loro scenografie, queste opere illuminano di un giorno originale l'evoluzione del gusto e della società in questa zona di frontiera tra Persia e mondo arabo, nel periodo medievale.

De la conquête par les armées du Calife Umar, vers 650, jusqu'au déclin de la dynastie de Tamerlan, au XVe siècle, le site de Suse, dans la province iranienne du Khuzistan, fut une ville florissante et dynamique sur le plan économique, notamment grâce à une production artisanale connue pour sa grande qualité. C'est l'un des aspects de cette production, celui de la céramique, que le nouveau parcours thématique, installé en réserve visitable, invite à découvrir, grâce à une sélection d'une cinquantaine d'objets découverts lors des fouilles archéologiques de Suse et prêtés par le Département des arts de l'Islam du musée du Louvre. Par leur diversité technique et esthétique, par les modèles qu'elles importent et reproduisent et par l'inventivité de leurs décors, ces pièces éclairent d'un jour original l'évolution du goût et de la société dans cette zone frontière entre Perse et monde arabe, à la période médiévale.

Desde la conquista por parte de los ejércitos del califa Umar, hacia 650, hasta el declive de la dinastía Tamerlán en el siglo XV, el sitio de Susa, en la provincia iraní de Khuzistán, fue una ciudad floreciente y económicamente dinámica. en particular gracias a una producción artesanal conocida por su gran calidad. Es uno de los aspectos de esta producción, el de la cerámica, lo que el nuevo recorrido temático, instalado en reserva visitable, invita a descubrir, gracias a una selección de unos cincuenta objetos descubiertos durante las excavaciones arqueológicas de Susa y cedidos por el Departamento de Artes del Islam del museo del Louvre. Por su diversidad técnica y estética, por los modelos que importan y reproducen y por la inventiva de sus decorados, estas piezas iluminan con originalidad la evolución del gusto y de la sociedad en esta zona fronteriza entre Persia y el mundo árabe, en el período medieval.
